Hackney Choral – Summer Choral Course – Online!
Description:
Learn to sing beautiful harmonies from some of the best musicians in the country! This exciting course for 8 -18 year olds uses the Choral Tradition to come together and sing, have fun, and learn new skills. Delivered via Zoom and Youtube Live, the course will run for 4 days, with 90-minute sessions in the mornings. These will be followed by home resources activities in the afternoon, which will include an exciting creative project involving devising an ensemble track of house music. There will also be daily masterclasses with leading musicians, including an interview with the guest artists at 4pm. The final day will include a concert streamed live to all participants, featuring a jazz band.

Description:
Come and join HMDT Music’s online Summer Course!
Together we will create our own multi-media piece. Just because we’re not in the same room, doesn’t mean we can’t create exciting work!
Working with a range of artists, the devisary course will include:
- song-writing
- creating dialogue
- film-making
Bring your imagination, your voice, any instruments you play and any technical skills you already possess and might want to develop!
The course will use your individual interests and ideas as well as provide a chance to socialise online and have fun creating something together. Be prepared to carry out some afternoon tasks such as learning/recording songs, creating some designs, trying some animation, practising an instrumental accompaniment leading to an end of course Showing.
Please note: we are aware everyone enjoys different elements and has different strengths. If you like some but not all of the areas being covered, do still sign up!

Girls Rock London: Summer Project
Description:
Young people are facing a long summer break with the continual threat of isolation and lack of stimulation and many are experiencing grief and loss. We have put together some resources (paper and digital) that we are sending out to 100 young people in Hackney and across London.
If you sign up, your young person will receive:
- A musical care package in the post at the start of the summer holidays. This will contain an activity booklet and some small stationery and craft items.
- Weekly emails throughout the summer holidays with links to videos and activities.
The resources aim to inspire as well as developing tools for creativity and wellbeing at home. This is not homework – the young person can do the activities whenever they want, however they want, if they want to, across the holidays.
Open to: young women and trans youth age 11-16
When: 20th July – 3rd September (school holidays)
What: a musical care package (arriving at the start of holidays) and weekly digital resources (throughout the holidays)
Cost: Free
